Unique Projects Onsite

Cahill are nearing the completion of the site installation of the two unique projects which were secured at the close of last year. Brunel Museum The new museum was designed with an aestheticly pleasing primary structure. The fully fabricated 13m span trusses and bespoke shs columns were all fabricated in house to a high level of detail and accuracy. Onsite the frame was erected within a very restricted site with a dock to the rear and one side and the priceless SS Great Britain the other. The contract period to completion was 2 weeks less than programmed and we are very happy with the outcome.

First quarter orders

Cahill have secured a variety of contracts for the first quarter of 2017. These include three schools, a spa complex, a new leisure centre, a research facility and a community centre. The company has also secured a contract to supply and install a steelwork frame upon the Isle of Man. This adds to the previously secured contracts due on site from February 2017 taking the total tonnage of orders in to the region of 1600 Tonnes.

Unique Projects

During October Cahill have secured two large feature steelwork frames with a joint contract value of circa £1 million. Islamabad Mosque nr Farnham and the new Brunel Museum in Bristol due on site the first quarter of 2017 are unique projects with a hi-level of accuracy and detail being applied to the fabrication and installation process' of both. These two projects go on to further strengthen Cahill's order book in 2017.

New Orders

March 2017 has been another great month for securing new work which included –
  • 480T JLR Dealership showroom in Taunton, Somerset
  • 200T Portal building Winfrith, Dorset
  • 50T Structure which forms the new Middlesex FA headquarters building Northolt, London
  • 180T St Lawrence School, Ramsgate, Kent
  • 75T Sir Winston Churchill School

New Apprentices

Cahill have a strong belief in investing in youth for the future and have recently employed two new apprentice fabricators to the company. This coincides with our previous two apprentise fabricators successfully completing their 3 year apprentiships in May.

Constructionline

Cahill have recently been approved as members of Constructionline the UK's leading procurement and supply chain management service

Residential Blocks Secured – 520 Tonnes

Cahill have successfully secured the next phase of Lilliput Road, Poole. The works consist of detailing, fabrication and erection of numerous stick and beam steel frame structures weighing in at a combined 520T. Cahill will also be carrying out the installation of all precast concrete floor units and stairs. Works are due to start on site sept 2016.

Estimating Department Expansion

Cahill would like to take this opportunity to welcome Joe Muspratt to the team. Joe’s role will be to help streamline and strengthen current estimating activities as well as forming relationships with potential new clients in line with the company expansion plans. Cahill now have a team of 3 estimators with plans to take on an apprentice in the summer of 2016.

Education Sector Work Secured

Cahill have recently secured further repeat business with Intereserve Construction with orders being placed for
  • Island Free School Isle of Wight - The supply and erection of a 265T structure along with the placing of all precast floor units and stairs.
  • Bordon Future Skills Centre - The supply and erection of 60T of steel and the design, fabrication and installation of the escape stairs and balustrades.
Both projects are due on site early June 2016.

Royal Grammar School – New Bridge

Cahill recently installed phase 2 of Trevone House for the Royal Grammar School Guildford, a steel link bridge with a powdercoated finish. Works at RGS have consisted of the supply and erection of circa 200T of structural steel to form Trevone House with the placement of all steel decking and precast stairs as well as the design, fabrication and installation of the bespoke 18m pedestrian link bridge.
